Misc Can anyone enlighten me on 5-HTP?

I have read about and even experimented with 5-HTP in the past, and I have heard people use it the day after rolling. I am wondering what other applications it may have? Why might someone use this substance aside from the aforementioned? I appreciate the help.

It's used as an aid against mild to moderate depression and in some cases as a sleep aid (serotonin is converted to melatonin in the brain, which helps you fall asleep).
