Stimulants Methamphetamine and Tungsten

My post is a serious question that I can't seem to find a straight answer to. Is tungsten commonly (or ever) used in the making of methamphetamine? I just wondered if anyone had some details as far as tungsten being used in the process of making meth. My son's friend has had several stashes of large amounts of tungsten over the last few weeks (all have since disappeared) and there are other reasons for concern, as far as a possible meth problem. I appreciate any help.
