Hello,

My friend has recently been taking around 100mgs of codeine each day spread out in doses about 30mg each.
My friend had only been taking the codeine for about 1,5weeks when quitting about a week ago.
The problem is that my friend is still feeling very lethargic/almost depressed along with feeling anxious.
I understand this has to do with the downregulation of dopamine.
But is this normal when only using for 1,5 weeks?
And if so, how long would it take for the brain to normalize the dopamine levels?

It sounds like you have a minor case of psychological addiction. Lethargy and depression are big signs of that especially when the amount of opiates were minimal.

Exercise, eat healthy, and sleep. You will feel fine in a day or two. Water water water.

coming from a 10 year ox and heroin user it is merely the feeling of liking the drug i do believe that is nowhere near long enough let alone codeine is basically the weakeast opiate there is i think your friend just needs to stop the depressiion and apathy are stemming from wanting to use, highly doubt from any Physical sense.
