In another thread I wrote about how I prefer to vaporize since I enjoy getting stoned on only THC and getting the psychedelic effects of cannabis, someone else replied saying how they prefer to smoke herb and most people they know do as well.

What's your preferred method of using herb if you are into cannabis and why? I made a poll too.

hm at home, i mostly use my Vaporstar, but imo a joint with only grass in it gives the best high, trippy, energetic, fun.

Smokey. Fucking badass, tastes dank, can be done with a more cheap device than vaping and is not so mentally dangerous as eating.

Love smoking it, I like bongs especially, joints, blunts, you name it. If its weed I'll smoke it.

As for vaporizing, I'm not a fan. I've tried it many times, I actually have a couple friends who love it, but I feel like it never gets me high enough.

As artificial emotion already mentioned,

I like the fact with a vaporizer that you know that it is less harmful than actually smoking it.

Also another thing i really like about vaporizing is it seems to be much more effecient at getting you stoned i found (I have the Arizer V Tower) Also you can make edibles with whats left over, i usually make fairy cakes and they are delicious and narcotic.

I do like to smoke joints with friends though, only pures though i hate baccy.

MFLB for life. I'll smoke a joint or small bowl from a pipe on occasion, but damn that little wooden box has changed my life.

Reasons for doing so are its more efficient, i enjoy the affects more than combusting, the taste, discreetness, and for my lungs sake.

Smoke is nice every now and then, but to me its far too wasteful to do except on occasion imho.

I have never used a vapo, is it really different, its something I would like to try but I am not going to buy one we priced one in the stores here they are like 150$. So I continue to smoke it normally, usually a pipe, when I get really good weed I use my bong. Oh and I voted. I just wanted to ask those who have used one does it taste different? Like when you smoke out of a pipe you can taste it, so I was wondering does it taste any different?? Carry On.

I prefer the taste from vapor, but its distinctly different than smoke. Smoke doesn't taste bad to me, its just i seem to like the flowery taste w/out the smell of smoke gives you more aprecciation of the flavour. But at the same time, different things are vaporizing at smoking temperature along with oxidation, that offers its own unique affects. Some cannabinoids vaporize at a different temp than what most vaporizers operate at.

Another cool thing, is the hits never really start to taste bad, i mean the first few puffs from a vape will be delicious, and then it slowly tapers off into a burnt popcorn flavor if you vape it too hot/long. But compared to the ass hits at the bottom of the bowl you are smoking, its a far cry from that taste in a good way.

I'd look online at a few of the major vapor enthusiast forums and check out whats available and how its received before buying anything locally. There are good vaporizers out there around $100. But alot of trash too. Even quality portables that run on rechargable batteries can be had under $150.

Back in the day, I preferred smoking to vaporizing for multiple reasons. Mostly because I can get a stronger body high and it feels better for muscle relaxation and pain management. I used to prefer vaporizing in the morning because i considered the high more clear and functional. I would then smoke a night or on days off. I never did learn to love vaporizing as much as I did smoking, though. I've actually since discovered a love of cannabis oil that makes either method seem obsolete now.

I currently prefer to heat up glass (rods for herb; oil domes for the hash oil). I usually smoke single hitters of oil by heating up a glass surface with a propane torch, touching a small amount of oil to the surface, and smoke through a single chamber bong. It provides a very smooth, yet potent high. I find it long lasting (compared to herb) and the high has a good balance between the relaxation/euphoria I seek and being active and alert.

there's probably a correlation between those that prefer smoking and those that also smoke cigarettes. I've never smoked cigs, so it's vape all the way for me..

Cool!, Thank you for the info was helpful!

I don't smoke cigarettes and I prefer combustion (bong only) to my vape. Smoke just gives me a more enjoyable high and with a vape everything tastes the same, with smoke I can actually taste the different strains.

I like to smoke joints with tobacco and lots of weed because I like the throat kick and the flavor. Also I smoke outside a lot when shopping or walking the dogs. I don't see me walking down the street with a portable vape. It just feels good holding a fat joint.

I bought a vaporizer several years back after having gum surgery and the periodontist told me I couldn't smoke for several weeks. It was handy then but I don't usually have the 30 minutes to kill that it takes to vape enough to get a good buzz.
I'll take a few hits out of some diffused/percolated glass over a vaporizer any day.

I'm a smoker. It's how I was introduced to weed. It's what I've done for the past 10 or 11 years and smoking is just the routine, the ritual, the tradition I've got.

I've vaped twice and both times I felt like something was lacking... I don't know for sure, but I think smoking has just become part of my normal set/setting and I don't have any need or desire to switch to a vaporizer.

I used to think that vaping didn't get me as high, but I have since learned that I can get as high as I want to if I vape enough weed (which is still probably less than I would need to smoke, it just takes longer).
But I like the energy boost I get from smoking.
The vapor tastes way better. It tastes beautiful.
Smoke doesn't taste very good.
Because vaping is so much better for health, I try to do it when I can, but if it is the second time in a day I want to get high, smoking just works better.
