Talking about Er's or IR's. I know the regualr half life is 12 and 8 hrs respectively...

the half life is the half life is the half life.

It is, incidentally the same for Opana ER/Ir because it refers to the properties of oxymorphone, not the drug delivery system or route. Different routes give different effects, but yes, mean duration will be longer when eaten/ swallowed and slightly shorter when insufflated or IV'd.

wait... so are you saying that 8 hrs is the half life for both er and ir? because i've seen it listed as 12 and 8. ??? thanks for reply.

The metabolism half life of a drug doesn't change. What does change with ER and IR, and with oral and nasal, is how fast the drug gets into your body - with IR you're gonna get the entire dose at once, while ER it's like having lots of small doses spread across a time period. Snorting it isn't going to change the half life, but its gonna cause more of the drug to be absorbed in a shorter time period, so the effects are going to be slightly stronger but the total duration will be shorter.

EDIT: Can't say anything about opana specifically having not used it, though.

ok just needed to make sure that the half lives were correct.
