Hi all.
Quick question (mods move/change as you will):

I'm on 40mg Escitalopram (SSRI) a day.

Can i take 160mg codeine safely, without risking a serotonin storm??

Its CWE from Nurfen+ and other chemist brands - i'm experienced with it etc. I like codeine occasionally to relax. (yes, i did UTFSE, to no avail)

Thanks
xx

Yes you can. Is metabolised into morphine by your CYP2D6 enzyme in your liver and works on the Mu opioid receptor not your serotonin levels.

Drugs that alter your serotonin are dangerous when mixed with Escitalopram. Such as MDMA, DXM etc.

Serotonin Syndrome you are safe from, an opioid dependence however will develop if used too often.

Ya doing ecstasy would cause that problem but opioids don't release serotonin the way ecstasy does. So your totally fine
