Clonidine

Does anyone know what this is (clonidine)
I know it has something to do with kids that are prescribed dexamphetamine but that is all. Some dodgy fucker tried to tell me it was better than dexies, which i dont like anyway.

He is indeed a dodgy fucker. Clonidine is a drug used primarily for high blood pressure. It is sometimes also used for ADD. It reduces release of the neurotransmitter noradrenaline and this is thought to be responsible for reducing the agitation and hyperactivity associated with ADD. It is also used to assist withopiate withdrawal. It is neither a stimulant or a sedative as such.
