I can recommend Mama Mia! I just saw it today, and it definitely brightened my mood. Kind of funny, sitting in a dark theater with 300 other people, all singing at full volume with every song.

And Meryl Streep made me cry with her version of "The Winner Takes It All".

The Dark Knight opens here on Thursday, and I plan on going opening day. I won't read the thread herre, because I hate spoilers. But I will comment after I see it,

Cheers, all.

I heard this sucked, like, REALLY sucked. This was coming from an ABBA and musical lover. I still might check it out. :\

Well, as it happens, I went to see it with an internationally known opera singer, and she had several snarky comments about Brosnan's singing. But she sang along, too, which amused me in the extreme, and everyone in the theater seemed to be having a blast. To summarize what the NYTimes had to say about it, "It's the worst movie you'll ever love".

Friend said that Meryl's voice is nothing to write home about either. True?

I really want to see this but no one in my life will see it with me. I think I'll go see it by myself lol.

I've always thought Meryl had a good voice. She sand in Postcards From The Edge and A Prairie Home Companion. This is her first starring role in a musical, and I think she acquainted herself admirable. And as I said, her rendition of The Winner Takes It ALL made me cry. Enough said. Go check out her version of it on Y0uTube.
