Demerol: how much fun is it?

So in this thread the question came up as to how much fun meperidine aka Demerol is. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, and am curious for future reference. I'm not asking about potency, rather about how pleasant and intense of a high it can give.
So how is a nice IV shot of Demerol? Compared to heroin? What about orally; how many 50mg pills could an average nontolerant user take for maximum effects? How would this compare to a big oral dose of oxycodone or hydrocodone?

When I broke my wrist, I was taken to the emergency room, they gave me a bed and laid me out till the surgeon specialist came. It was kinda late at night. Anyways the pain was getting worse so I complained about the pain, the doc comes in checks me out and comes back in with a needle and gives it to me IV, tells me its a narcotic... well at first I notice the pain goes away in a matter of seconds, after about 15 seconds I can notice my whole perception has changed... I cant feel shit and I FEEL GREAT!!!!!
Next thing I know I close my eyes and I start dreaming.. while I'm awake, I know im awake because i can still comprehend what is going on around me and open my eyes freely..
Very cool experience.

im not too fond of it personally....when i broke my hand, i got tons of it, but only took it for a couple of days after my surgery...it made me feel very spaced out...i wanted to drive somewhere, but was no where near sober enough to....almost too incapacitating for my tastes

I've only had it IV ina medical situation, well I was told it was demerol but was surprised cause it was not like a usual opiate high at all.
Ist up I was WASTED! even on a really high dose of smack I can walk straight & drive well I was stumbling & there's no way I could of driven home.
It felt like herion mixed with valium ..maybe even a touch of MDMA... I felt SO good ..considering what was going on I should of been feeling REALLY bad, not just phyically but emotionally as well, but no it was great, wish I could get some again, but i really dont think it was demerol, I guess I'll never know.

Good painkiller, not that bad for fun.. an IM/IV dose is about 50mg, for real fun you need about 100mg .. I personally enjoy oxycodone and hydrocodone more, and wouldn't buy the pills unless I was hurting, but to each his own..

I know many pills can be disolved or otherwise
made suitable for IM/IV use. Is this possible
with Demerol pills or are they dangerous, in a
similar respect to the Contin line? If they are
feasible for IM/IV use, how difficult is it to
get the pills into an injectable form?

I get a LOT of Demerol (for various medical reasons and, yes, they are legitimate. LOL !!! ) Personally, I LOVE IT

I can't say I have ever tried to prep a pill for injection.. I don't imagine it would be that difficult, so give it a shot.. basically, add your water and sitr - now, if it turned to a gel or something, it won't work, so just eat it.. if it looks good, apply heat and stir.. if it still looks good filter it all.. look in the syringe and see if there are any particles, if not, you COULD inject.. personally, when working with a pill I have not injected before, I wipe the spoon clean then squirt the contents of the syringe into it.. you can then clean the syringe with clean water/saline (draw water up then squirt it out a few times) .. now dop a TINY piece of cotton in the syringe and filter it again - what you have should be fine for injection...
It would help to research what else is in the tab ...

Question- When they were telling me about the Demerol they said that most people when given Demerol get sick to their stomachs. Soooooo they said they would give me an injection of this other "shit" so I won't get sick.
Any idea what that was?

It was probably promethazine (Phenergan) or something similar. This is an antihistamine with sedative and anti-emetic effects. It also potentiates opioids, it's worth picking up if you see it someplace.

syd, a high opiate dose to an opiate newbie will usually induce a wonderful vomit-session.
I don't know why they told you iv wouldn't do that but other methods of delivery would.
I can't name anyone I know who uses heroin (for example) and didn't puke at least once their first time or two.

Phenergan or Vistaril .. both will increase the effects of the Demerol as well as help keep you from getting sick .. they also burn when they are injected IM .. but they stop the itch!
