Yet another Eidos video game adaptation for the big screen, this is really seeking to go where Tomb Raider and that crappy franchise about zombies went... and failed.

According to the IMDB entry, Timothy Olyphant (of dire Die Hard 4 fame) will play the central role of Agent 47 - the genetically engineered assassin who becomes caught up in a political takeover, with both Interpol and the Russian military chasing him across Eastern Europe as he attempts to discover who him up and why he has now become the target.

Timothy Olyphant - Agent 47
Dougray Scott - Mike
Olga Kurylenko - Nika
Robert Knepper - Yuri
Ulrich Thomsen - Mikhail Belicoff

I gotta say, casting this schmuck seems lke a mistake. 47 is supposed to be a mean-looking, brooding, steely-eyed killer... carved out of oak - not some trust-fund-sapping, all-teeth-and-smiles surfer who happened to shave his head for a laugh. And Dougray Scott??? That guy pretty much puts the kiss of death on any film's credibility. He should really stick to killing middle-age housewives on Wisteria Lane with his dreadful accents.

I'm just bitter. I loved the games, but it seems this is doomed to be yet another toned-down effort to appease the PG-13 audience. I just hope it doesn't take on the campy overtones of almost every other video game adaptation.

i didnt realize till the other day that they had made a movie based on the game.

i always thought the story behind the game was interesting, and would have loved to see it played out in a movie ...

then they make the movie, but i am sure they will fuck it up like all other video game based movies ...

anyone went and see the movie? the reviews i read online said it pretty much sucked ass (and i so wanted this movie to succeed)

"The formula is not that far removed from James Bond except there's a hole at its center. Agent 47, played by a virtually expressionless Timothy Olyphant, is a soulless, emotionally dead protagonist."

That was a review i just read about the movie ... i thought emotionless was exactly was Agent 47 was suppose to be? maybe it doesnt carry over well in a movie. or maybe not enough people played the game? lol

This movie was fucking terrible. I mean goddam couldn't they hire actors taht actually spoke russian or someshit. I mean wtf does hollywood have to stoop even lower every year for portrying other nationalities. I mean the action scenes were pretty awesome but tahts about it and even they mightn't not been that great cuz I was tripping. But damn I got give it like minus infinty for acting. They fucking ruined my game

is it just me, or did they go out of their way to pick the most anonymous, boring character to turn into a movie star franchise?

They picked the worst possible lead for this film. There were cool parts, but this movie really is just garbage. Not very surprising I guess.

I dont know what was more annoying ... the shitty story line that leaves you wanting to bash your head in with a hammer

or the "Russian" actors ... WTF was up with that?! Cause I know here in America when I am speaking to others who grew up speaking English with me, I go out of my to start speaking Russian for no fucking reason what so ever.

and cant forget the British detective ... the white guy ... any1 notice all the man did through out the whole movie was just smoke?! thats not fucking acting!!

Made it through about 30 minutes or so and gave it the flick

I just could not see Hitman going anywhere
