Film: In Pot We Trust

Aired recently on Showtime.. available online if you know where to look

The medical use of marijuana is examined from every side of a very complex issue with this documentary that charts the suffering of four chronically ill patients whose reliance on the illegal drug as a pain killer is in jeopardy due to federal anti-narcotic legislation. Reform organizations, prohibitionist groups, politicians, drug war critics, scientists, and celebrities all get their say in this fascinating analysis.

I enjoyed it.. especially the middle aged lady smoking up lol.. though the girl in Kansas with cerebral palsy and a really bad stutter was heartbreaking knowing she has to go pull shady street deals looking for her meds a dime sack at a time :(

i watched it recently and loved it. i don't know how people opposed to drugs can watch that and not feel guilty for perpetuating this drug war

they just plug their ears and say "there's no such thing as medical marijuana" like that one congressman form indiana did when the lobbyist from the Marijuana Policy Project came knocking

MPP needs to rename themselves... at least to the the Cannabis Policy Project or something. You could tell as soon as the lobbyist said marijuana half the congressmen were like get me away from this guy and the camera crew following him

Great little documentary.

Yeah, the one middle aged lady smoking up for the first time was awesome! Except she said she doesn't smoke, hasn't smoked, etc. - then how the hell does she take that huge hit and hold it like she does, no cough? I'm a smoker and that would have had me a little winded. That seemed weird to me.

The girl with the stutter is jaw-dropping...

yeah i was suprised she didn't cough up a lung

also was it just me of the DEA guy have really big nostrils.. like he had done a lot of coke in his day or something lol

as others has said, great documentary, it stirred up alot of emotions in me. my

goes out to all the patients.

great documentary I thought the lobbyist was to young we need some more experienced older people. And the people marching through the streets at the begining were doing more to hurt than help

The Congressman from Indiana is Mark Souter if I'm not mistaken, and he's one of the most outspoken supporters of the drug war. I don't know why he wasted his breath.

BTW, those people marching definitely hurt the movement. What a joke.

No kidding huh?

You know - after seeing the people who seriously can benefit from it, I've decided I won't pursue getting a medical marijuana here in Tokyo. I don't need it like they do - and I don't want to put their chance at risk by being another med-pot-scammer.

So I don't smoke pot. 8) (sarcasm)
