i loved it! one of my favorite movies that focus on drug abuse.

i haven't read the book yet, i haven't read anything by burroughs

If you think the movie was out their just wait till you get to the book . just working my way throught william burroughs books from junkie to the ticket that explode.

nakid lunch is the first one to us his cut and paste style of writing and its just ever so slightyl confusing. he mix's in movie, music and news refrences from the time around the 60's bit of a head trip to say the least. But hey what can you expect from a gay 40 year junkie that shot his wife in the face playing "willaim tell" damn it i think i go back to reading yates.

i really wish chronenburg had decided to kinda of do a burroughs treatment to an unrelated story. His naked lunch falls far short of the book, and IMO, its completely impossible to adapt it.

I have been trying to see this movie since forever. I just can't seem to find it. of course The Naked Lunch is one of my favorite novels by Burroughs, and his loose style of writing could give the director lots of interpretive freedom... but is David Chronenburg good enough?

a complete adaptation of naked lunch would be a illegal in every country

agreed, think most censor's would find the amount of erotic asphyxiation and gay sex a bit of an issue.

i read the book a while ago and enjoyed it. i'm sure i'll catch the film at some point, but honestly, the book's almost always better than the movie, so the movie will probably disappoint me.

watching the film flips my head about a bit. some really trippy elements. i haven't been able to give it a proper turn yet.

haven't read the book. want to.

the voice of the actor annoyed me terribly and i stopped half way through

did you guys notice that the guy that plays bilbo baggins in lord of the rings is in this movie aswell. He plays the charactor tom frost

I like this movie a lot, but then I'm a self-admitted Cronenberg fanboy.

Easy fix, guy. Netflix it. or as the kid's say "flix it". as in "oh fuh sho do, Mario Peebles be the schisms, uh'ma flix it." do the $4.99 plan then cancel if need be. 5 quid's a small price for a hard to find item.%) =D 8) also, random smilies for no reason.

on a realated note....

William Burroughs can be seen in the Ministry video for "Just One Fix" blasting things with an old style double barrel shotgun.

youtube it.....

i agree. Do you want to play the mugwump? ;)

the book sucks, and the movie sucks. hyped up hippie tripe. There were many great authors from Burroughs era, i fail to see why anyone gave a shit about him.
