Help get 'Ecstasy Rising' shown on Australian TV ?

Hey,

Many of you would have seen that wonderful documentry 'Ecstasy Rising' that was mentioned on BL a fair while ago. After reading this post I saw someone mention that someone mentioned Australian TV.

I would really like to see this shown on TV to clear up all the confusion that the uninformed have floating around in their head. My parents still 100% believe Ecstasy does put holes in your brain because they saw it on TV (that BS thing a while ago, can't remember what it was).

So what can we do to try get this shown? I think if we get enough power it could be a possability.

It was on ABC in America right? Which Australian channel gets most ABC shows? But really, I don't see 7,9 or 10 ever shopwing anything like this, because it doesn't help create a border between "druggoes" and "normal people".

Maybe ABC or SBS will play it. But most likely it would be more of a cable thing. On a specialised channel, like one of the Health/Doco/Science channels.
 
Try to convince people it is a really anti-drug programme, then it'll get shown quick-smart :)

"I used to go pinging on pills every weekend for five years. I robbed from my parents and sucked cock for money just so I could buy more and more drugs. After I watched Ecstasy Rising I quit the very next day and have never used drugs again. That was 4 years ago, now I am a very successful Amway sales person and an avid christian devotee. Please replay this program so others may benefit from its strong message"

Yea, I think it was on ABC in America, also ABC here has no problem showing drug documentries in a posative and truthful light. But I wouldn't really know, I just think back to when they showed ABC - 4 Corners - Ecstasy - Beneath the Mirror Ball (4th-Jun-2001) that was pretty good and you should see it if you haven't, even though it's a tad old. :)

Just a note, you can contact the ABC here. Who knows, if there is enough demand someone there might actually look into it.

I sent a message, and they say it may take up to four weeks for a reply. But still, they said they would reply. :) Or they wont, but I'll post the reply here if there is one.
 
The only people who would go to the public screening would be the people who are already pro-drug i suspect.... though i think showing it on ABC would at least be a step in the right direction, i know that's about the only channel my parents watch anyway.

If ABC Advertises this right to actually make people interested as to why they were lied to in the first place.. I think a lot of people would watch it.
 
A suggestion would be to email the abc with the url to this thread commenting on harm reduction and possibly a "ratings winner". We all win.

Given there is enough interest in it.

I'd sure like to see the program. :)

Hmm, maybe someone should do that! I've already submitted what I have to say, but a reference to this post, commenting on harm reduction and a "ratings winner" should persued them, good idea. :)
 
I think i recorded it from a stream once, and saw half of it... my internet is slow and i couldn't re-record it very well. Where can i download this movie in full. avi/mpg/mov/wmv ?
 
^^search for "ecstasy rising" in the ecstasy discussion forum and you should find a divx of it that is decent quality. Thats where I got it from.
