just saw a review of this on the movie show (australian tv). as usual, margaret and david disagreed (i imagine they have a sort of siskel & ebert relationship, though i've never seen them), but i thought it looked really interesting.

it's a documentary about the brian jones town massacre (the band) and its lead singer. it seems to have a bit of dandy warhols content too, and is narrated by one of their members. looks like a really good voyeuristic insight into how fucked up the bjtm are. looks good.

anyone seen it?

Great Flick - I had seen Dandy Warhols play a couple times, always thought they were awesome. Somehow I missed the whole BJM thing - I will have to try and find some of their stuff.

This is one of the few I really wanted to see but missed. It had a very limited release, if anyone knows where it's still showing in Melbs please care to enlighten us...

This is a great flick. You can catch it on the Sundance channel if you have it.

It’s really more about the relationships between the Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre rather than just the BJM. I read somewhere that Anthony Newcomb (lead singer of BJM) didn’t like the way he was portrayed in the movie, but it’s the Dandys that come off looking like a bunch of sellout pussies.

The BJM have been one of my favorite bands for a long time and one of rock’s best kept secrets. It’s nice to see them finally get some recognition.

Their website offers every one of their albums to download for free. Do yourself a favor and check um out!

I just saw this for free off my cable from some free on demand list of movies. It was awesome. BJM are amazing and insane. It's funny how much of a bunch of assess the Damdy Warhols looked like...defitnely killed any interest I had in them. But, BJM has totally captured my imagination...

BJM does have amazing talent, but Anton is too much of a wanna be luminary and wont put on a work face so he can get a record deal. I know that he is signed now, but at the time Ondi Timoner filmed the movie, it was done over 7 years, Anton was a wreck.

Courtney Taylor-Taylor, the lead singer of The Dandy Warhols narrates the film. It is truly a great piece of work, and is a true testament to the yin and the yang of the music biz in the world. Its easy to understand why Anton has so many issues, as his father was an alcoholic who killed himself during the filming of the movie. This movie is rather hard for the person with an average intellect to understand, but it truly is a genius piece of work.

It also won the Sundance Award for Best New Film, and that says something. It is rare to find such amazing work these days, when shitty remakes of 70's Horror Flicks, and Jack Black movies reign supreme. For those who have not seen it, it is avaliable through the web, and off of the Dandy Warhols website.
