The Victorian Psychostimulant Monitoring Project executive summary is now available from our website via this link:

The study focused on methamphetamines, ecstasy and cocaine use. Where possible, comparisons are made between data obtained from four Melbourne-based sources:
  1. 105 face-to-face interviews with psychostimulant users, conducted Jul 2003 through Feb 2004;
  2. 393 valid responses to a web survey which was online for a month between Jan and Feb 2004;
  3. 100 face-to-face interviews with regular ecstasy users, conducted Jun through Aug 2003;
  4. 152 face-to-face interviews with injecting drug users, conducted Jun through Jul 2003.
    [/list=1]
    Patterns of drug use and associated perceived benefits and harms are described, with the implications for harm reduction starategies and further research discussed.

    We thank the anonymous people who participated in this project. Please contact Jenn Johnston for further information.
