Re: Duplicate Pill Reports

Can people pleeeeeeeeease look down the list and see whether the pill their about to report on has already been reported on?
I went to report on the Orange Motorola and saw about 3 seperate reports! It makes it alot easier to read if there's one report and heaps of comments. If you don't agree with a rating, add it in the comment - don't start a whole new entry.
A big problem with Pillreports is the fact that the page moves so bloody fast - we can stop this, think (and look) before you post!

And how many reports on Buddah's are there? With different spellings too, tho that's no excuse! (what is the right spelling btw?)

i agree with mona! thats why i hardly post on it!
and Tarsa,i think you spell buddha the way you did! buddah!

and how can you trust someones report, when they put up 4 diffrent pills that they had that weekend!
so which one was the on that worked?

the correct spelling of Buddha is "Buddha"
Main Entry: Bud·dha
Pronunciation: 'bü-d&, 'bu-
Function: noun
Etymology: Sanskrit, enlightened; akin to Sanskrit bodhi enlightenment -- more at BID
Date: 1681
1 : a person who has attained Buddhahood
2 : a representation of Gautama Buddha
and what she said... you all know my feelings on duplication.

I disagree with you Mona sorry.
If I see a report on a pill i've had, and the description and shit is poor, I'd prefer to write a whole new report.
I'm sorry, but that way people see the way its done, and maybe they can learn from it.

Yeah Buddha is the way to spell it, I realised I messed up after I posted the pics to Johnboy, just didn't think anyone would realise or say anything...hehe, sorry!

at first i totally disagreed, i was thinking that the more posts on a certain pill the better, but then i thought about how much better it would be if there was only about 15 different posts (seperate pills) with everyone commenting inside with their own opinions it would be heaps better.... people would add their owns descriptions of the pill and you would get a really really good idea of what the pill was like from lots of people.... hmm have to agree here with mona here, ill start changing my ways.
the only problem is it might get confusing as people will assume their pills are the same, we all know there are tonnes of different batches of the same pill, and we will just get people arguing over pills when technically both could be correct.

The reports I am on about have practically everything the same about them - except a descrepancy on 1 in the rating. To me, this is the same pill, to me this doesn't need a whole new post.
This is what I meant.

This could be done automatically by the web server, but would require a lot of code, I may offer to do it after exams

When a new pill is entered, similiar names could be searched for, and the user could click under which report to enter it. Also, instead of comments, you'd be able to add second full reports, that would rule!
Ahhh, the possibilities, endless. BUT, it was hard enough to get people to use pillreports, let alone change how they use it!

Personally I don't mind if there are a number of reports on the same pill.
As was stated above there are often a number of different batches with the same name. By having a variety of reports you can look for subtle differences in things such as: description, test result, location, and so on, and make a good judgement about which batch your pills have come from.
I think what people need to do before posting a report is look to see if there is a report already posted. Once they've read the report they should decide whether or not to post. If you agree with the report, and the description etc, is the same, then there's no point. However if you diagree with the report in anyway, it's probably worth posting a new report. At least that sounds logical to me.
Cheers.

Crazy Aussie....
May i inquire why it was hard to get people to use pill reports?

Johnnyboy .. this has been on my mind also for a long time.. being a regular reader and writer in pillreports.com it errks ( pisses me off ) to no end some of the spam that goes on in there.
Is it possible to set up some sort of moderators in the pillreports section..
I myself am willing to help out if noone else will.

I reckon that would be a good idea Mr Nice Guy, it looks like it needs to be looked after and cleaned up every now and then, it gets messy at times. I too could help out if it was needed.

mpire 1, when Pillreports was first introduced, it was difficult at first to get people to STOP posting to bluelight, and to start using pillreports, thats why i made that comment. There isn't a problem now, but those who have been here a while will remember the time it took to stop postings here, and create them there.
cap, i think that having all the same reports on one page would make differentiating between batches easier, ie you could see one speed bomb batch which seems to have a diamater of 6, while the blacking testing pills seem to have a diamater of 8mm, for example. I also appreciate when people report on the same pill, even if it is similar to another report, because it backs up what the original author was saying. IE, currently on pill reports, there are two people 'i pill hard' and 'pro piller' (VERY SUS!) who both say D5's are good, now if they really are good, i would like to have other people agree with this post, rather then someone not typing anything because they had similar feelings, get what i'm saying?

we have been hamstrung in the running of pillreports for some time. this has been because it was Jase's baby, and no one elses. then jase dissapeared.
skydancer now apparently has the keys to it, so it has beenon my list of things to do to get some form of moderation over there.
BUT keep in mind it is a specialist database and is not designed for moderating in the waythat Bluelight is.

Just submitting to the same pill report doesn't account for different batches in different regions.
It doesn't account for time either - ie - euros from earlier in teh year and euros now!!!
It is vitally important that if you feel your pill differed markedly from another report then you submit a brand new report.
The fact that there are pillreports is kind of acknowledging that all pills are different and the fact that you can never be 100% sure from pill to pill what's actually in them.
To my mind it defeats the point of pillreports to submit comments on a pill which may not be the same even though the scoring indicates it!

Did ANYONE who replied after my last post actually READ it????

Ahhhh yes - what is your point?!?!
(DELETED - SECOND THOUGHTS)
Kid A, good points, they never even crossed my mind!
