Who's seen this film? What did y'all think?

Personally I thought the premise was really interesting, and I was fascinated in finding out how they'd make an entire movie out of it.

But the execution? Nyehh. Without giving any plot elements away, characterisation is something which was needed to make it worthwhile, and I felt this was sorely lacking.

Also, the movie was touted as a kind of "Blair Witch meets Jaws" and there was only one sequence from the entire film that I felt met that requirement: the nightfall sequence.

One more thing....they could have spent WAY less time on the opening and buildup, and WAY more effort on making the ending have more pathos and empathy.

All in all, not the worst movie I've ever seen in my life, but I'm glad I had free tickets.... :\

i agree. i thought it was a good idea which stuttered a little in the implementation. that said, it did only cost $130k to make.

for me, its greatest power was the effect it had on me - both during the movie and after - when putting myself in the position of the protagonists. what would i do? how would i deal with it? then, it's really pretty chilling.

Good idea, awful awful delivery.

The couple didn't even really seem too worried that they were stuck out in the ocean, they came across as too care-free. :\

At least you get to see the chic naked for a few moments in the beginning!

Not even close to JAWS

This movie was a complete rip off! I saw if for free and I'm still upset that I wasted time watching it.
The previews were completely deceiving. The captions said "More Terrifying than Jaws"
More terrifying than Jaws???!?!? Hello! The sharks only had 10 minutes of screen time.
And the death scenes were off camera.

Word of Advice: If you want to see a shark movie......DO NOT SEE THIS FILM!!!!

They've talked this one up a lot because it's cleaned up in the U.S. Unfortunately it falls well short of expectation. Most of the budget is used for the money shot of the female lead in the 1st 10 minutes, the rest of the film is them bobbing in the water with her screaming.
"Oh my god we're going to get eaten by sharks"
"I hate you for bringing me out here"
"i'm sorry I love you so much"
"Oh my god we're going to get eaten by sharks!"
If that floats your boat go and enjoy, for the rest of us the only grace is that it's fairly short, under 80 mins.

I just watched this recently, also because I wanted to see how they could make two people bobbing up and down in the ocean go for 90 minutes. I thought it was OK, a reasonably good film. People complain about the acting at the start of the film, but I though it was more realistic than anything Hollywood has done recently. All in all, a reasonably good film, and it had me thinking the next day, which is rare.

I like others thought the idea was good, but the movie itself was horrible. When I went and saw the movie at the theatre I only stayed for part of it. I thought it was a waste of time so I left!

I havent seen it but i got told the other day by a friend of mine that its pretty good... i dont know im still not exactly in a rush to see it. the psychological aspects sounded quite interesting though.

Saw this movie today and was I impressed, loved the way it was filmed in vhs, the thing I liked most about this movie is how u actually forget its only a movie, knowing it has happened to a few people before makes it much more scarier. Definitely a DVD to get

yah, i'm a diving teacher and this movie didn't scare me at all..... what a sad attempt.

The only thing I'd remark on were the underwater shots of the sharks, quite nice.

I thought it was interesting that in the "Real Life Story", the reason the couple was left behind was because the Captain was in such a hurry to get back to the dock so he could meet his mistress to attend a party. He never even did a head count when they re-boarded. Then it took two whole days for them to notice them missing. They never found their bodies, only peices of wet suits. But when they found the woman's it only had slight bite marks, which made them believe she may have not been devoured and killed instantly by the sharks and just died a slow agonizing death (kinda like they showed her husband do in the movie). I guess we'll never know.

Although the actting wasent great....it left a weird disturbed feeling with me mainly because of it being true. (or somewhat true) There really were no solutions for them once they were left, no amount of money or intellegence could save them at that point.

I thought this movie was good in the way that it was captivating and I was definately interested in it..but I thought it was one of the most horribly depressing movies Ive ever seen. There was nothing uplifting about it..it was just two people in a horribly sad, way fucked off situation..watching them slowly lose hope just killed me. It also made me realize Im never going out in the ocean. EVER.

This movie was under an hour and 20 minutes long?!? I swear on my life i was sitting in that theater for at least 2 hours. What a god awful film.
