What is your opinion on the movie.

For those who make have forgot, it was the movie released in 1995-1996 with Elizabeth Berkley (Save By The Bell) & Gina Gershon (Bound), following the story of Elizabeth Berkley's charachter goin to Las Vegas to become a dancer.

Many said it was the worst movie made of the year, and even of the 1990's.

I didn't find the movie all that bad. Granted it isnt an academy award type of film, but I found it entertaining.

I actually didn't think it was that horrible... the acting was a little over the top, but what do you expect from a girl who'd been doing that stupid tv show for so many years? She may have sucked, but she's still hot as hell... and that makes it all worth while. ;)

Its a good movie if you want to think of her as Jessie from Saved By The Bell and want to touch yourself. I don't think I could watch it with somebody for fun... unless that person was female and touching herself too... ;)

... Otherwise this movie blows!!!

Showgirls is bad, but it's only as bad as everybody makes out when you realize the director made Robocop.

Paul Verhoven's worst, but I can excuse this garbage for Total Recall and Starship Troopers. :D

wow deluxe box set complete with-
"Pin the Pasties on the Showgirl" game with pasties and blindfold

wow. 8)

That movie just takes me back...I had it on tape when I was about 10 years old and me and my friends would watch it in secret after everyone else in the house had gone to bed... That and 'Exit to Eden'.

I love this movie, and I'm gay! It's just lots of fun to watch Elizabet Berkley act her little heart out. It's too bad she's not around much anymore, she could have been a good bad girl.

I love this movie. It's pretentious and horrid and thoroughly fuckin entertaining. =D

In terms of camp value SHOWGIRLS is highly entertaining. It is so over the top & deleriously trashy that it is second only to PLAN 9 FROM OUTERSPACE as the most unintentionally hilarious movie ever made. It's an example of creative people making the wrong choices at each turn.

Some high/low lights:

the fuck scene in the swimming pool which has to be the most unerotic movie sex since the male on male anal rape in DELIVERANCE. Elizabeth Berkley seems to be recreating the opening scene in JAWS rather than approximating pleasure.

Berklyey's constant whine "I'm not a stripper I'm a daaancerrr!!"

BUT the ultimate scene that sums up SHOWGIRLS is a line of dialogue that veteran B movie actor Robert "Cragface" Davi delivers to Berkley's character. It goes down as THE All Time Most Tasteless Line Of Movie Dialogue In Cinematic History. His character is trying to complient Berley's character after her first performance at an upscale strip club (she had worked at skaggy strip club previously). He says to her "Hey Kid you did great, you're really moving up. It must be wierd though not having guys cumming on you"
