5-HTP whats it for?

I was reading a post on 5 Htp and I cannot work out what it is for I have an idea , but could someone explain for me please, just incase it is not for curing the common cold

Check out a post topic called EVERYONE READ! which is our floating FAQ list. There's a stack of useful information in there (over and above the basics of 5-HTP) and also a list of "definitive posts" about 5-HTP in Australia.
This FAQ should be somewhere in the first page or so of topics, because it keeps getting *bump*ed to the front by people (like me) who've read it and think that it should be sold (as Raider puts it) as a "pill instruction manual".
