How would you change a particular movie for the better?

I hate to pick a medeocre movie to start this off,but I would change Scream 3 to completely bring it full circle. The murders,of course would start up again. Gail Weathers, would now be known as a sensationalizer, using the media coverage as her own personal gain. Down an out,she growns closer to Dewey. The killer at the end would be revealed to be Dewy.

Remember the scence in Scream 1 where Gail hides the camera in the house to be able to watch what was going on? The camera would later be recovered by Gail. As she watched,it reveals that Dewy was the third killer in Scream 1. He tells Billy to stab him as he did Stu later, moments before we see him stagger out the front door. When Gail confronts him with this,he tells her that he found out about Billy's involvement. Billy convinced him to join them. He was just a joke in this town and that's all he would ever be. If he joined them, they would let him capture them at the end, making him the hero. They lied to him of course, intending on killing him when they were finished with him.

Dewey tells Gail that he only killed one person and that was his sister. Unintentionally,at that. He only meant to scare her. He swears that he no involvement in the curent murders. That's when Gail tells him that she knows that. It was her doing the killings in the 3rd. When she found the tape, she figured this to be a way to get her reputaion back. Proof of a deputy's involvement in the original murders and she had left evidence at the final victim's scene of the crime that would tie Dewey to the current murders.

Dewey tells her that wasn't the final victim. When asked what he means,he tells her that he followed her around, trying to protect her. That's when he saw her murder the last person and plant the evidence. So,he planted his own evidence. And he had found the tape after he followed her after the murder. The final victim would be Gail Weathers. Shot in the act of trying to kill an officer after being confronted about the murders. Gail dies and Dewey gains hero status and popularity with his new book,Media Murder:To Kill For A Story

Well, that's my two cents. I may post a couple more, but I would love to hear others. What movie would you change and how would you do it?

Because I just finished reading that thing about the Clerks sequel, I'll will use Chasing Amy as my example.

I would have re-worked the "fingercuffs" thing... have her completely honest about her sexual past, and dump the "sex with my woman and my best friend" thing... and then devlishly force KS to write a new ending.

>insert evil laugh here<

Aliens vs Predator

Fire the director.
Fire the Dir of Photo.
Fire the actors. Keep Lance Henriksen.
Hire me instead.
Script rewrite.

Make cult classic.

Star Trek: First Contact is one of my favourate movies but one line makes me cringe every time. It happens just after the climax of the film and before they return home.

I would remove or replace the following line:
Worf: "The Moon's gravitational pull obscured our warp signature. The vulcans didn't detect us."

AAAARARRRRRGGHHH! LUCKY!

any suggestions?

"any suggestions?"

I've thought about it a few times before, but I've never really been able to think of anyone who would be right for the part. I can't seem to think of anyone who would strike a decent balance between being a kick ass hero while also having a much less confident side.

I think that an important part of the character is that there needs to be that balance between being very unsure of himself (which Maguire did a pretty good job in portraying), but I think there also should be some bad assness to the character, something that I just dont think he did very well in either film.

^^^Just playing Devil's Advocate....I don't really think Spider-Man has ever been played as a badass in any medium, let alone his extensive comic book history. And considering that the first Spider-Man movie was capturing the essence of early Spidey stories, I think it did a great job...for all his wisecracking, Spidey was massively underconfident and unsure of himself in his early years. He was the first comicbook hero to "hang up the mask" (ie:retire because he couldn't hack the pressure) and he did it so often it's become a cliche...

Oh, and I totally agree with SLM on the Jar Jar Binks thing. Wipe that unholy thing from existence I says!!!!

Thats a good point, and I wouldn't dispute that the character has always been shown as being very underconfident and unsure of himself, especially in the earlier comic books, but for me in order for someone to be believable as a hero, they can't just be completely underconfident. There needs to be something that suggests they could actually kick someone's ass, and I just couldn't see Maguire in that light at all.

^^^Fair enuff. I don't think it bothered me so much cause all the actual Spider-Man swingin' around scenes were cgi, but as Peter Parker, I think Toby Maguire pulled it off perfect.

Take a videotape of The Matrix trilogy and tape your 6 year old cousin's birthday party over it.

^^^ fantastic suggestion.

I'd also suggest changing any movies owned by your educational institution (particularly if it's a high school) for the better, by splicing in a few seconds of hardcore porno every so often throughout the movie.

^^^ yeah and let that stupid chick die!!!

I would change Clockwork Orange. I dont like the way hes all fixed at the end

I would have not given the "gang's away" to the greenlight on Solaris.

Thereby preventing a blackhole from being created at the videostore.

The visuals guy can go make a music video or something, it would be infinitely better.

let someone else write the scripts to the new star wars films. story = good, script = horrible :/

I don't know about the book but I never got the impression he was really fixed at the end of the movie. Unprogrammed maybe, but still a prick.
