Has anybody else here seen this film yet? I was disappointed with how the plot went. I should have known better than to go spend full price on this flick, [sarcasm] but I didn't realize that it was another original film from that mastermind Stephen King.[/sarcasm]

It was incredibly predictable, and was about an hour way too long.

Johnny Depp, as always, did a decent job acting but even he couldn't save this picture from one-cliche-to-the-next. It was the first time in a long while that i had wanted to walk out. oh well.

Thumbs wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down.

I was curious how this was going to go. It's by the same guy who did 'Panic Room,' iirc, and I couldn't stand that movie at all. I thought that maybe since Johnny Depp is in it, it'd be decent. Looking forward to further opinions...

hmm...a few clarifications. firstly, the film is directed by david koepp who wrote panic room (which was directed by david -fight club/the game/alien3- fincher), and is only based on king's short story (from that old four past midnight collection)...i'm not sure if he even had any input into the film's actual making.

anyway, i probably won't end up catching this, but it doesn't look *so* bad that i'll avoid it should it cross my path :)

plus johnny depp always helps...

i personally thought it was a good movie, although a little predictable the acting was a + and the storyline was strong. I reccomend this movie.

i thought it was real good, predictable, but i still liked the ending.
However i was on speed, and every movie is better on speed.

i picked out the surprise twist within 5 minutes of the movie starting.

Seriously..

What is the big fucking deal with the main characters being insane. Is this the only hook that script writers can come up with these days?

My mistake - there is the one "they were really dead".

But fuck me... it was fresh in Fight Club, it was done well in Identity, but god damn - its been done over and over again.
Oh Shooter is a homicidal personality. Wow. Thanks Mr. King take another 5 million dollar cheque.

This movie was well made and well acted but it was just like a really tricked out Holden Gemini. Nothing but a polished piece of shit.

I forget which ending is which... I know the book had a different ending. Oh now I remember.... The movie had a better ending. But the book was better overall.

I liked the movie.

Overall, I liked the book more than the movie, but I did prefer the film's ending. I thought that they should've explained the part about Mort's past plagairism a little more in the film though. They mention it but never really give the story behind it.

Right - i have avoided reading any spoilers on this page. I have been really looking forward to this movie. It only came to the cinemas here a few weeks ago, and unfortunatley is out of most cinemas around here, so i probably wont see it until its out on DVD. I thought the trailers looked great!

I love Johnny Depp as an actor - im not gay, and do not fancy depp, but i do think he is a great actor (Benny & Joon, Blow, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to name a few)

Ok, well, I havn't seen the movie but I did read the story (i'm reading four past midnight.) and the copywright was 1990.

I'm sure the movie follows the book, as most of the movies based on King's books do. I enjoyed reading it, although it was predictable, Stephen King is always a hard read to set down.

sho

I just watched the DVD.

After watching all the extras King did have input in the movie.

I enjoyed the movie

Didn't like the movie at all...was too easy to figure out.
Seeing Johnny Depp was really the only thing making it relatively watchable.

I liked "Seceret Window" pretty well, but of course I tend to judge a movie by the actors in it, more than the movie itsself. So if it weren't for Johnny Depp being the main character, I wouldn't have thought it was that great probably.

Though the movie started out REALLY s-l-o-w, it picked up in the last half. I really enjoyed it and thought Turturro and Depp were excellent in it.

After seeing this I couldn't understand how Johnny Depp got pulled into acting in it. I suspected the "twist" early on but was like "no way, that'd be too stupid" Then it turned out that it really was just that stupid.

All I could think of was Adaptation where the writer tells his "twin" that the only plot device more overused than ___ (I dont remember what it was now) is multiple personality disorder. I'm pretty sure this movie was "the Three" :p

And "shooter" = "shoot her"!?!? As soon as she walked in the house and shooter was all over the walls, I said aloud to my friends "oh my gawd they'd better not turn it into "shoot her" like a shitty knock off the shining's redrum = murder and again, they did exactly that in the most horribly cheesey way possible.

1 star.

edited to fix horrible spelling errors.
