By ANDREW PARKER

A BOY of four had to be taken to hospital for HIV tests after he found dirty heroin needles at his McDonald’s birthday bash.

Connor Moore popped to the loo at the burger bar and came out clutching a junkie’s smack kit.

The innocent lad had picked up a box full of used syringes, needles, lighters and spoons and thought they were toys.

His stunned parents Kris and Julie grabbed the box off him rushed him to A&E in case he had scratched himself.

Connor had 4½ hours of HIV tests and his worried family are now waiting for the results.

Last night Kris, 24, blasted the Coventry city centre McDonald’s.

He said: “It is disgusting.

“You expect a massive firm like McDonald’s to keep undesirables from shooting up in their loos. I called over the manager and went mad asking why the toilets had not been checked.

"He said it was a city centre and it was hard to keep druggies out.”

Carpenter Kris added: “McDonald’s have offered me £15 worth of vouchers or a free party. I told them to put it towards a security man to keep a check on the place.”

McDonald’s says it is investigating the incident.

Thats way fucked..how could the manager think that a lousy £15 (of vouchers no less!) could make up for a cluster-fuck like that??

damn, so thats where all my shit went....oh well finders keepers i guess

Yes, that's it. Security guards to monitor bathrooms. We'll catch those drug crazed junkies for sure! Maybe we'll even kick in stall doors while little johny is taking a poo, suspecting more sinister activities are being undergone inside closed stalls.

How exactly are you suppose to keep people from walking into a restroom? Last I checked, drug crazed junkies don't walk around with their rig sticking out for all to see.

And what the hell is a security man going to do? Watch everyone that might look like they do drugs that walks into a bathroom? Pssh. 8)

At the Mcdonalds on second and lehigh in philly they do have a security gaurd to make sure people dont shoot up in the bathroom! lol. Its this old bitchy bull dike and they keep a close watch if your in there longer than a minute. I got caught one time by a manager and I got into a huge fight with him. He was spanish and kept talking spanish gibberish to me so I just started talking gibberish back to him, then I told him that I would take my business to checkers and left.

In Queensland (Australia) the needle exchange programs are top notch, and everytime you pick up fresh syringes, you are given a puncture proof disposale container, that 99% of the time gets returned to the sharps bin at the exchange for destruction.

Wake up America, you don't even provide disposale options....

no shit man. I just recently started firing at a low calibur and even when I toss my points I'm sure to recap them (what more can I do?). I am uncomfortable with this. What if a cap falls off and pokes a garbage man, or someone goin through the trash? I poked myself with an uncapped needle once and there was agreat ammount of fear that flowed over me, until I realized that it was mine. I don't see how ignoring a problem will make it better or go away...

Can't really blame us. It's the uber conservatives that are afraid having such programs will increase drug use.

Keep them inside a plastic bottle (600ml) they *should* be safe.

Yep :) We are often without a disposale bottle, we just stick them inside a chocolate Oak milk bottle (350ml I think), very rigid and puncture proof (syringes are capped and in wrapper, so it's no problem). I can't think of anything worse then dumping needles in public places, especially uncapped. I'm a heavy IV user, but I still get sick in the stomach when I see an uncapped used needle in the gutter near a park, it just gives the public more reason to hate us.

"Yeah, I'll have a #4 with a side of smack..."

If only Mcy D's served H, maybe that would give me a reason to go there once in a while...

Actually I see them all the time in Casino Bathrooms, Sharps containers that is. =D

^Most probably to save themselves from a multi million dollar law suit if someone poked themselves. When you make that much money you need to protect it. :)

They only go so far, like in this case, he could of shot up in Macca's and put his used syringe in a personal disposale bottle... not to mention what happens on the street. What am I talking about, IV users in the states use syringes over and over :( no need to dispose, just poke that HIV infested, blunt needle in again.

Those sharps containers are usually provided "for diabetics" so they can safely dispose of their needles after injecting insulin. If diabetics who need needles to keep themselves alive get to have public sharps containers, i see no reason why addicts who need a hit to keep going shouldn't get to have them. That's not to say that their use is justifiable or even acceptable, but why is it any different?
