Xanax and Allegra?

Taking Xanax 0.5mg per day and I have bad seasonal allergies. I chose Allegra since that seems to cause no sedating effects unlike other antihistamines.

Is it ok to take Allegra 120mg along with the Xanax or should I wait a few hours and then take the Allegra or vice versa?

Im not a doctor but i dont see why you cant take allegra and xanax.

The issue would be if you took a antihistamine that could cross the blood brain barrier because h1 antagonists can be sedating. Ie diphenhydramine. But, already seem aware of this.

No wonder why Allegra does not work, because it doesn?t cross the BBB.

Allegra doesn?t do much for my allergies...

There should not be an issue with this combination. As you've said and you know, it's not even a sedating antihistamine, but even if you were to take a Benzodiazepine like Alprazolam (Xanax) in combination with a sedating antihistamine like say, Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), it wouldn't even be dagerous, per se, but you could find yourself in a situation where you are a bit more drowsy than you would like to be.
