I’m asking because if possible I’d like to convert it to another salt but don’t have any HCl on hand currently. Is there any reason to believe another salt couldn’t be created? Particularly the acetate?

I can't answer your question, but I'm curious as to why you would want to bother?

Well I heard this particular batch may have a fair amount of residual succinic acid. I’d like to purify that out if possible. Plus any other impurities while I’m at it.
