The words to describe
just how alive
I felt when he laid that track,
How my body moved
and my soul grooved,
these words I will always lack.
See, there is no reply
to when they ask "why?".
It's just what I know to be true.
And others may judge,
but it's only a grudge.
The truth is they don't have a clue.
It's not about drugs,
or giving out hugs,
or dancing the night away.
It's not about candy,
or, "hey meet this guy... Andy"
or even just coming out to play.
It's about unity,
some say fraternity,
just finding the others like us.
We congregate in masses,
despite what our class is,
and in these groups we find those we trust.
We may come together,
in fair and bad weather
to seek comfort in one another.
It keeps us in motion
to spread the emotion,
and call one more person my brother.
So let them all say,
as they do every day,
"What is so good about techno?"
I look none in the eye,
I grin and walk on by.
And hope that one day they know.

I apologize if my words seem slightly childish, but recently I was standing in the middle of a crowd as Dieselboy dropped in a beautiful string of music that reminded me why I've been partying for the last 10 years. The people, the vibe, the crowd. Even though I don't run around in candy and think that everyone is the greatest person I've ever met anymore, I still go to for the people, I still meet anyone that smiles at me, and I still love the music. I'm that guy who still loves the idea of what community symbolizes, and I'll always promote PLUR.
