Why do Dating Websites Cost Money?

Why is it that most if not all, dating websites make you pay to use certain features especially messaging other users. When it comes down it, you don't even though if that other person is a paid member or not. So your sort of wasting money, so why do these websites do this sort of thing, I don't get it. How many dating websites or mobile app's have you paid for and tried out?

The real dating websites like eharmony and what not are for people actually wanting to date.



POF, Tinder, and OKC I have mostly just used for hooking up.. But they try and get money from adding certain features which very few people use anyway.

Funny, they will send you an email stating XXXXX wants to meet you. In order to see who XXXX is you have to pay. Its all BS. Getting laid on the free sites is easy if you have a little e-game.
