Why are Chinese drugs sold in buttpluggs?

Thought one of you chemists might know the answer. You see these all the time on sites like Alibaba and eBay, they seem to be made from some clear plastic or possibly glass.

Is it to make them easier to smuggle through customs? Or is it for storage in China, to hide illegal product from the communist government?

Doesn't it affect purity and risk spreading infections to customers?

I'd assume they're flasks inverted with stoppers in them.

Either way, photos posted on alibaba are about as useful as descriptions of unicorns. So this thread is gonna get closed.
