I don’t agree with her on the born an addict. Simply need to look at the studies that have looked at addiction rates of offspring of addicts and variations of offspring of addicts and non addicts.
Manipulation of the dopamine reward system results in multigenerational changes.
Fully agree that the stigma of 100% abstinence based recovery is a negative issue, but I feel it’s gotten much better.
Full medical care of patients taking buep or methadone is a big problem. Chronic use of these medications can cause easily treated hormonal and nutrient deficiency. Because it costs the greedy clinics money and ignorance it’s ignored.
A patient on methadone or buep should light one of these clinics up with a law suite to get things rolling and you might even get a nice payday for doing the right thing.
