Opioids Where does most of the opium legally harvested for US pharmaceuticals come from?

Just curious. The source of government approved opiates have to come from somewhere. I think I read somewhere that Tasmania is one of them.

India and Turkey are the two big ones.

They're trying to get more of the opium produced in Afghanistan diverted to pharma instead of smack but last I checked that's still very much a work in progress.
