What constitutes irresponsible drug use?

when the user makes sacrifices above & beyond what they would normally consider in order to maintain a drug habit.
or, smoking crack for 6 weeks straight then breaking in to buckingham palace to try and shag the queen.

Staying up all night and then trying to drive.
Doing stimulants for days on end.
Doing drugs to get "right" for work.
Arguing needlessly with friends or strangers.

in as simple a way as I can put it, When your drug use takes priority over anything you would deem important before taking drugs, i.e. Friends, Work etc etc...

Ask the following.
Lee Bowyer.
Jonathan Woodgate.
Paul Gascoigne.
Tony Adams.
Paul Merson.
George Best.

dropping a pill on wednesday night with a 3 hours of porn a bottle of G and some grass...in a spa :D

Okay, let this thread continue to travel the globe....sending to North & South American Drug Discussion!

when you know you have had more than enough, but you eat another pill/do another line/take another hit whatever.

When it disrupts your ability to function as a normal human being for more than just your "off" time.
When you ignore other responsibilites for the short-term gains of being high.
Risking your health, ignroing better judgement, and consuming an amount of substances that is OBVIOUSLY not safe just because it seems "Like fun".
I've done all three. But you learn from it. Hopefully. That or wind-up in rehab/the hospital.

When you spend more time on it then off it.
When you can't have fun without it.
This has been said before, but worth saying again:

When it gets in the way of life, it should be in addition to not a substitute for.....or if it interferes with day to day responsabilities.
