hi , im a 40 yo guy and 2 years ago i started waking up in the middle of the night to piss every night. ok not end of the world but the last 2 months its become 3 times ..... so something is wrong.

i take ecstasy occasionaly now .... one once a month but have taken maybe ..... 3 or 400 hundred in my life. also i take valium .... maybe every seccond night but just 1/4 of a 10mg blue pill.

im super dry all the time and drink liters of water , but even if i dont i still have to wake up 3 times.

i have been to the doc and he has no idea. all my numbers are good. said maybe its hormone issues.

anyone else have this problem ? each time it got worse seemed to be straight after taking e .
any ideas ? thanks

I didn't see it in your post but do you take any opiates? I seem to pee a lot when I'm close to needing another dose of my pain meds. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Welcome to getting old. I'd suggest talking to your doctor about it. I have the same problem but I know that I will need surgery to "fix" me. Other health issues take priority at the moment though. Your doctor may have useful tips for you or may send you to a specialist. Limiting beverages in the evening helps.

Agree with Kgiesel.

Im in somewhat of a similar situation. But I'm only 1-2 times per night. But that's pretty normal for men our age. We're just getting old.

If you're really concerned about it, see a urologist.

Limiting beverages before bed really does help, I've noticed.

Hi
The reason you're waking up often to piss could quite simply be down to the fact you 'drink litres of water'.

I assume your piss is clear, almost water-like(?)

Other things to consider:
Any history of diabetes in your family?
Are you overweight and/or have an unhealthy lifestyle which could put you at risk of type 2 diabetes?
Any history of prostrate problems in family? (this would cause a sensation of the need to piss but you wouldn't pass much urine each time)
Do you drink a lot of alcohol either consistently on a regular basis or during episodic binges?

The following is perhaps irrelevant,...
The volume of alcohol drunk obviously increases the frequency of urinating and alcohol also affects the pituitary gland and causes the body to reduce production of the anti-diuretic hormone, vasopressin. This is the reason why, after a lengthy (3-day) drinking binge, it seems impossible to rehydrate since all the water you're tipping down your throat passes straight through immediately without being absorbed and without soaking up uric acid thus preventing the body from 'flushing your system' and hydrating.
For years this inability to hydrate after a binge infuriated me as I couldn't understand why drinking gallons of water didn't help my hangover. Now I know about vasopressin, when - following a binge - my piss turns from clear to deep yellow and stinks, I know that I'm through the worst of the hangover.

I don't know enough about physiology to understand whether pituitary gland problems or a condition affecting the endorphin / hormone system could have a similar effect on vasopressin production... perhaps worth a brief investigation.

Kidney problems and high blood pressure (affecting the kidneys) could also affect the frequency of urinating.

i know ketamine messes with your bladder - do you or have you ever used ket? ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽

Whatever the cause, I really feel that the only one who can give you truly useful advice is going to be your doctor. If one doctor cannot find the cause, I would begin proceedings to switch providers or to see a specialist in the field. I'm leaving this open, but all we can do is hypothesize and even if we determine the cause, it's not likely that we will know how to stop this from happening.
