If one is "dating," or pursuing romantic possibilities with more than one person at a time, is one obligated to tell the parties involved? On the one hand, honesty and transparency are really important, but on the other hand, I fear losing both/all of my connections if they find out they are not the only one I am interested in, even if it's just a little bit.

I am in a place where I think I need to do a lot of exploration.

I had a friend in college, Manny, who was seeing 5 or 6, I've forgotten, women at once. They all knew about each other, and he would even lead them all around town bar hopping together. The only one who seemed unhappy about the situation was his wife because she had to stay home and take care of his child.

What? His wife?! Umm, I'm not sure this is an example I want to follow. I appreciate the attempt to validate my desires, though.
