Trying to find a certain strain

Any suggestions on procuring certain strains from outside sources? I don't live in a cool state like CO or CA where I can just go to the corner store. Of course I can buy from sketch ball bob around the corner but who knows where the fuck he get his stuff or what strain it is. Any suggestions?
