Opioids Tramadol tolerance

Hey I used to take tramadol in 2019 and I hit a tolerance. I was taking it correctly so I got off now in 2023 I was prescribed it again and the tolerance is still there after all this time off. What could cause this I did read you shouldn’t take tramadol longer than 6 weeks I was on it for 2 years for back pain.

I found that after giving it a break for a few months, tolerance was reset. But I wasn't using it daily, more like 3x week. See this thread https://bluelight.org/xf/threads/tramadol-tolerance.890596/
