Tramadol First Thing in the Morning (Absorption/ first pass metabolism)

Does taking 200mg of tramadol as soon as you wake up affect the absorption/intensity because of first pass metabolism?

I know this is the case with weed edibles where you should eat a breakfast at least before dosing but I'm not sure what else this applies to, tramadol specifically.
