So basically I came across this muscle relaxer that I have never seen or tried before. I always make sure to research before hand as much as possible to know what it is im taking.
Anyone have experience with this drug? I have the 4 mgs pills and I also came across amitriptyline, and I was wondering if that could help opiate withdrawal like flexeril does or gabapentin which are alternatives that can be prescribed as well.

I'm not sure about the interactions, but I remember reading something about amiltriptyline being a dangerous combination with certain drugs, either that or I'm trippin.

Anyways any input would be great my bluelighters.
You guys are my NA therapy sessions. Reading threads helps me so much, and I don't feel alienated from society as much. I feel normal here ?

Also I forgot to mention I'm trying to taper and quit benzos, I got addicted to them while attempting to detox half a gram + of blk tar a day of good h, and I've been taking benzos for years with complete control but not this time. The same thing happened with gabapentin. I have loads of both gaba and benzos but I don't want to get re addicted to gaba. I already quit that after failing the detox and I'm trying to lower my benzo dose so I'm seeking anything else to help me kick that's the point of my question thank you

I dont have any experience with amitriptyline but i have tizanidine prescribed to me for TMJ. The tizanidine never did much for me on any psychoactive level, so i cant imagine it helping with withdrawal EXCEPT for the fact that it can put your ass to sleep very quickly. So maybe it would help you sleep through some of the withdrawals, but i dont think it would help dampen any of the actual symptoms.

Kava can be very helpful, kratom can be very helpful (although it is addictive, its just A LOT easier to get off of than heroin), CBD isolate is helpful, or just weed in general if you like it. Best of luck to you my friend

I would use the amitriptyline at night when you need to sleep because it can be very sedating if you've never taken it before. Do you know what the strength/mg they are? I had been prescribed amitriptyline at 50 mg and made me a bit dizzy the next morning with wicked dry mouth. I don't think you would need both simultaneously but if you take with tizanidine, I imagine you would have more side effects. This site gives details:

Kratom taper. It has very mild opioid effects and is easier to WD from. A taper would offer minimal discomfort.

This x1000

I try not to evangelize it too much myself. But when others bring it up first, I like to second their opinion :)

Kratom gave me what was easily my most painless withdrawal ever.

Man I get it with Kratom and all but I don't have money to spend on it it's expensive and I don't taper well I need to quit opiates completely I know myself . I appreciate the replies guys, I'm very aware of Kratom but it's a process I've tried before, but with my tolerance to h it does nothing .
I appreciate the link and the warning of the sleepiness aspect of amitriptyline.
I just want to wake up without an opiate first thing on my mind I'm so sick of it :(

Tizanidine works similarly to clonidine, another drug used for opioid withdrawal. These act as agonists at the alpha2 adrenergic autoreceptor (as well as being imidazoline receptor agonists)
Hypotensive effects are pronounced, if the dose makes you dizzy on rising, hold on to something and bend forward as if bowing at the waist and slowly rise, to combat the orthostatic hypotension.

This is the primary major side effect. Dry mouth can be secondary, as well as nasal congestion, the best remedy for which is a locally acting decongestant like xylometazoline or oxymetazoline, as nasal drops, the two cancel each other out at this site (I get both on rx, the nose drops can cause rhinitis medicamentosa, if used chronically, and suddenly stopping can result in severe congestion of the nose, but I've used both side by side the drops to cancel out the congestion effects sometimes caused by tizanidine and clonidine (I take both, the tizanidine for nerve damage resulting in a spasm of the calf that otherwise never abates and is very painful, and the clonidine, to prevent my overloading, since I'm autie, and it helps to cut out the sensory overloading crap)

Both work very well with opioid withdrawal. And if needs be, can be used if not used to the drug, tizanidine especially, plugged, for a few hours respite. It'll knock you out cold. It lasts about 4 hours maybe 5, I take 4mg 5xdaily, more if I've saved some up from a week I don't need as much for my buggered leg and if withdrawing from opioids, it really does work wonders to calm and blunt the sympathetic storm that occurs, all the overheating especially, the skin-crawling, massive nor/adrenaline release, the jitteryness, akathisia and overstimulation. Tizanidine (and/or clonidine) works wonders specifically against these symptoms, although won't help (or hinder) with the shits. modest doses of immodium for that, and it does provide some help for the lachrymation (tearing of the eyes) and running nose caused by opiate WD. I'd hate to be without these two drugs in my...as my doctor once put it, before that one particular doc retired, 'pharmaceutical dustbin' (actually he called me that, lol=D guy was a funny cunt) of a script pack.

There is also lofexidine, and guanfacine, that are used as alpha2 adrenoreceptor agonists. Never tried britlofex/lofexidine, its made for opioid withdrawal as an adjunct of non-opioid nature, and guanfacine isn't available here, but tizanidine and clonidine, I love 'em. on or off opiates, and whilst on them, a little clonidine or a mg or two of tizanidine in a shot...bugger me does it ever give the stuff a kick like a mule.

Thanks for the responses !
Okay wow I didn't know about the alpha 2 receptor aspect of tizanidine, similar to clonidine, where it helps the goose bumps and the hot and cold symptoms, due to the receptor activity that they work on specifically. The adrenergic alpha 2 gives you that hypertensive feeling and super skin crawl.
I gusss I'm glad I came upon these I should stop taking them "to test them out for withdrawals" next thing you know I'm out of them...
I also got like 7 soma 350s to help so idk let's hope for the best

Tianeptine is good for benzo withdrawal and opiate withdrawal, just make sure you don't get hooked on it.... can order it online

It may produce profound myorelaxant effects, never taken cyclobenzoprine but tizanidine I've been on it year and it can still knock me on my arse. main issue i a propenity to causing orthostatic hypotension, which may be severe enough to knock you out or cause momentary collapse. Best thing to do is bend double if vision starts clouding, as if performing a japanese bow; rising very lowly to allow the heart to compensate.

Okay so there aren't dangerous serotonin syndrome relating issues when it comes to mixing tizanidine + cyclobenzaprine? It's just the sedating and hypotension ?

I'm a recovering H addict. I was recent in hospitalized for acute bacterial infection that painfully spread throughout my body. I was on IV Morphin in the hospital and then oxy 10. I was sniffing the oxy. In addition for "pain management" the doc gave me tizanidine and Gab. I have several tizanidine 4gm left and only about 6 gaby left. I felt a slight w/d this morning before I took the rest of my oxy. I was only on opiates for 8days. But I was abusing the oxy after being released from the hospital 3 days ago. What combination of these can I do over the next couple of days to not feel so crappy and be able to function to get to all my specialist appointments and find my apartment I have to move into this week??? I've had 2 weeks from hell and refuse to get strung out again. I just don't want nor have time for w/d. TIA
