Inverse agonists at this receptor site induce a rapid antidepressant effect. Does this mean that benzodiazepines working on this receptor cause the opposite effect, so dysphoria?
 
It is probably similar to the antidepressant response seen with ketamine and ECT. Reductions in GABA-A inhibition > Glu release > AMPA receptor activation > mTor/BDNF
