Sometimes my speed hits are more chem taste and smaller....?

Normally when I hit the pipe I get a good hit with nice clouds but sometimes when I hit the pipe I get a really strong taste of chemical and it feels like a regular hit but when I blow out there's hardly any smoke at all. My guess is it's from being heated to fast so when I start I usually try and torch the bowl soft with flame lower to keep this from happening but even then it still happens occasionally. Am I doing something wrong when I get those chem hits? Is this normal? p.s just thought maybe it has something to do with rolling it;thoughts?

The strong chemical taste is from burning it, and the small hits are from hitting it before its completely melted and smoking.

Perhaps you should melt first roll and cool to recrystalize and then melt and then swig. I've done that before but I think you might have burned your product.
