My cellphone's battery has swollen up for some strange reason. Can anyone tell me what happened and what I could do? My phone always turns off by it self. It is quite annoying.

Li-Ion batteries sometimes fail that way, swelling up because of out gassing. Could be a possibility.

I has one start that way because of a faulty car charger. Overcharging or some cords can do it. Battery kept dying out.

Probably get a new battery and check your chargers. I'd start with the chargers but if the battery is already swollen then probably best to review.

It is possible to have a problem with the charging circuitry in the phone, but yeah. Sometimes the contact points between the battery and rest of the circuitry, or charger, can be off.

My chargers are fine. My battery looks like he visited an all you can eat buffet. Thanks for this information. I'll probably just need to get an new battery. I wonder what it would cost.
