It looks like Buprenorphine and other opioids may bind to Adenosine receptors, which may account for some of the stimulant effects of some opioids. I wonder if it's true or not what do you guys think?

So opiates have a downstream effect where adenosine is released which then acts up adenosine receptors in an agonist fashion. This causes sedation.

Now caffeine is an adenosine antagonist, it helps promote wakefulness by doing the opposite.

Opiates energy I think comes from dopamine release and I also feel opiate receptors in general. I’ve always gotten energy from all but high doses of opiates.
