Simple question- what does the "C" stand for in the scheduling system (ex "CIII")

I was looking down at my testosterone and saw a "CIII" on the package.

Why is "C" always written before the schedule of a drug.... like on Suboxone packages it says CIII, on Adderall it might say CII..... what does the C stand for? I cannot find this out anywheres...

CIII = schedule 3 controlled substance.
CII = schedule 2 controlled substance.

like nether animal said, the "c" stands for "controlled"

The lower the number, the more abusable a drug is, according to the DEA. CI (no approved medical use) for instance includes Cannabis, Heroin, LSD and others. CII are the most abuse-prone drugs, theoretically, which still possess legitimate medical value like Morphine/Strong Opioids or Amphetamines.
