there is enough madness within me
to blow people upwards,
skywards!!
attention now,
keep still,
for once
just for one thunderstorm,
we just wrote our father,
you can beat him,
let me stop thinking in language,
I want to stop moving my arms
for one exotic still moment,
without anxiety,
without technology,
without interrupting this sadness,
completely unknown strangeness
There are jellyfish rushing through
this,
my own symphony orchestra,
I know no ransom
to declare here,
please keep quiet
and I will write,
this thunderstorm
tonight
can you hear it?
there is something comical here,
women are screaming and
I write about that in the weather,
men are dreaming and
I write about that in the streets
everyone in my audience
left their seats some time ago,
wet dollars being thrown away
the birds heard my music,
then the birds fly away
it continues to rain,
the people turn and look and look
as the writer goes about his book,
listening
writing
writing something exciting
shadow dancing in the rain,
I think by now
I can explain,
there is something wrong
about my shade,
I write about my darkness
yet remain unafraid,
tonight

There is some excellent phrasing and imagery throughout. Another great piece of writing.
I don't remember writing this... Alcohol... But thanks :)

I could see it fraying slightly at the edges and suspected that a tiny bit. It's that rigidity that reflects your life in those moments.

I don't mean that in any demoralizing or judgmental sort of way, but as a fact of the perceived experience.

Do you only write while drinking?

Do you only write while drinking?
About 99% of the time, yeah. I don't feel creative sober, or at least unmotivated to write. Most of the stuff I post here was written near the end of the night when I start to black out.
