See-Saw
Peculiar,
Are the lines you sketch,
Across the image,
Of our conjoined hearts,
Blissfully unaware,
I like to act,
It's easier that way,
Temporarily.
You're a flavour,
That you don't find,
In packets of candy,
You buy off the shelf,
An obscure virgin species,
That glides above the ground,
But the distance,
Oh, the distance..
You push and you,
Pull at me,
But I know you want me
Right where I am,
At arm's length,
But not in your arms,
I need to be cradled,
Like a babe,
And you do too,
I never held you close enough,
Though, I hope I still can,
Hold you,
Some day soon.
