San Pedro- Is Slightly "Mushy" Cacti Good to Prepare?

Hello All!

I have a giant San Pedro I've been caring for. Recently, one of my stalks fell over and cracked in half :cry:. I have a pup on top of this slightly mushy middle portion. I was planning on preparing the middle slightly mushy part, it's about 4 feet large and I'd hate for it to be a waste. The bottom portion of the cactus is fine. The pup would be fine to re-plant as well.

Is the slightly mushy part okay to cook?
