Have you ever repurposed any xmas present, you got as a kid?
The one that stays with me is the Meccano set I got as a pre teenager. When I was moving out my folks' house, I discovered my old set and decided to take it with me, thinking I'd find a use for it. Couple of years later, I dug it out, found some strong magnets and built my own magnetic stirrer (yes, I've always been sad!). Getting the Meccano set meant parting with my Lego, or I'd have found a use for that, as well! 😁

Merry xmas

Meccano was a bit before my time, but I had a whole box of Lego Technic (do they still make that?)

It's advanced a bit since I was a kid - £430 for this badboy!:

I inherited my older brother's meccano set one Christmas when I was about 7. It was fuckin brilliant. It taught me loads about problem solving. I also had something called 'Bilo', which was like meccano but the pieces were made of wood.

One of my nieces is getting a breadmaker I got my wife, last xmas (she promptly lost the instructions and I only found them, after massive house tidying, after she passed). Don't know which one yet, but not as a 'proper' xmas prezzie
