Questions regarding high dose codeine use

Hi,

I've read 2 articles about long term neurotoxic effects of codeine. But I would like to know how severe this is. Currently I'm on clonidine, cyproheptadine, alprazolam, methylphenidate and I use codeïne recreational in doses of around 200mg. I need my cognition very bad for my work so I want to limit the risk of neurotoxicity. How does codeine compare in neurotoxicity to benzo's for instance.

Another question I have about codeine is that I noticed that 24 hours after my codeïne dose I occasionally get tachycardia, palpitations, severe insomnia, diarrhea and I worry excessively about everything. Is this some kind of acute state of withdrawal?

The mix of codeine, methylphenidate, and alprazolam is not a good mix for you at all. All of those are neurotoxic with chronic use, so you should definitely decrease your use of all of those. Also, try out some nootropics, such as aniracetam. Theyre very good for cognition and neural regeneration

Codeine is not neurotoxic , methylphenidate might be in high doses
