Pt have 2 rx for promethazine codeine, can pt fill them?

Pt have 2 rx from same doctor two different dates, one for 11-9-17 and 12-13-17 both for prometh cod.pt looked everywhere to find a pharmacy, no store in the area had it .finally pt found a store, they require an antibiotic to go with to fill cough meds.pt had the antibiotic filled elsewhere, so pt had to visit the doctor to see if pt could get another antibiotic... doc rewrites the rx and didn't ask for the other one (11-9-17)back.pt already filled the (12-13-17). ... pt have an old rx for an antibiotic (01-16-17) and prometh cod(11-9-17) do you know if it is possible to fill the two rx .pt still kind of sick and doc states he doent prescribe the med any more at the time he rewrote rx!!

You could take one to the pharmacy but if you try and fill a second one, it may be flagged since it contains codeine. So even if you went to another pharmacy, it can be seen in the database and your doctor can see it too. This falls into a sort of legal area so I'm closing this. Hope you feel better though.
