So since I've seen about ten docs, and posted on everywhere from healthtap to reddit forums, and nodody has been able to figure out why I'm stuck in the condition he's in, I thought maybe some people here may have a theory:

This is very emotional for me. Just had to get that out of the way. I had a bad reaction to pseudoephedrine, taken for sinus relief in an OTC product. I went to the ER, where they told him that his hypertension urgency case and severe severe chest pain could have been brought on by his lyme disease infection, WTF! They discharged me, with very high BP and later that day developed an insane headache and went screaming into the ER, where they finally lowered my BP, but insisted on discharging him, saying he had a "long standing BP issue, clearly." I tried to tell them it was the damn pseudoephedrine, but they were awful ER nurses who didn't care and thought I was being aggressive. I started vomiting and was 3 days no sleep, heart beating so fast when he stood up that he couldn't do so, had to get carried into the ER AGAIN, with a severe migraine, with floaters and horrible tinnitus, and has been stuck with these symptoms, as well as severe postural tachycardia ever since.

It has been 2 years. Not a millisecond has gone by where I don't feel the exact symptoms that he did during that OD... they simply never went away. The chest pain and tachycardia is controlled by Verapamil, but the migraine, tinnitus and aura are not. I has taken every migraine medication, anti-convulstants, benzos, done IV everything at the hospital... going in for botox next week, but botox isn't going to get at the root of the problem, which is clearly something deep in the nervous system.

So the question I have, is do you think I did irreversible damage, like he may have had some type of undetected/undiagnosed event/damage that happened during that episode which permanently left him in that state, or do you think that just like I was put into this mess by a drug, he can be pulled out of this mess by a drug... what might that drug be? SWIM is looking at IV propofol, morphine, or anything that may reduce activity of the nervous system, but is at his wit's end, since no doctors are fighting for him, he is basically just fighting for himself, bringing suggestions to the table.

What do you think? I know it's high-level sh*t, but any helpful knowledge/suggestions/theories are welcome. I have generally taken things fairly well, but am having a sh*t ton of anxiety about it right now and needs some help thinking things through.

God damn stupid ass swim shit. Even if its illegal, it doesn't matter. Do you really think that will matter AT ALL in any kind of legal sense. If theyre checking your internet usage youre pretty much fucked anyway.

As for your question, I think that's better suited for a doctor to answer than a bunch of druggies on the internet.

Welcome to Bluelight, we don't use swim, so please edit your post, or else no one will read it, as it's annoying to read swim instead of I.

It's one thing to use swim with illegal substances (still useless and kind of annoying), but dude, pseudoephedrine is legal. Not trying to rag on you OP, just know that's it's totally unnecessary here, even though other forums encourage it.

Anyway, go see a cardiologist or maybe even a neurologist and see what they think. This is way beyond what I think anyone just reading from a computer screen can answer.

I really hope you find relief, I accidentally OD'd on pseudo from zyrtec d and man, what an awful experience that was. I had 4 or 5 mini panic attacks on what I guess you could call the come down I felt like I was going to stroke out. Chest pains, throbbing veins, all of that. No permanent damage though, my heart is actually really healthy. As shitty as pseudo is (pretty sure it's mostly if not all pns stimulation rather than cns, which is why it makes you feel like absolute shit), anxiety can play a huge part too. I think that even if pseudo did some damage (which only a doctor could confirm), the anxiety is making the situation MUCH worse.

Your post is a little confusing because at times you say "me and I" and then you use "he". But it seems like you're saying you were diagnosed with lyme disease. If Lymes goes undetected and untreated for a long time it can in turn travel into the nervous system and cause permanent damage. While you may have OD'd on the OTC medication, from a clinical stand point it doesn't make any sense to continue having OD symptoms every day for two years after. I am no doctor, but I am a nurse at a family practice. Hope this helps...I suggest seeing a very good Neurologist as well as an Infectious disease specialist. Good luck....

^I totally agree that you need to get specialists involved as Lyme disease is significant. Anxiety plays a huge role too I'd say as someone who is very familiar with how it manifests itself physically.

Most likely permanent organ damage due to hypertensive crisis but you would have needed a Massive spike in blood pressure sustained for several hours to cause that, well upwards of 220/110 sustained for some time provided you were not chronically hypertensive before in which case it would have needed to be even higher.

How do you accidentally OD on fucking Zyrtec???Read the directions on the fucking bottle lol.I mean were you trying to get high off of Pseudoephedrine? That doesn't work, bring it to the meth cooks and they might be able to do something...

Wow, I hope you feel better soon. It sounds like you might consider your primary care doctor and go from there.

I take generic Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) daily for chronic sinus problems. Never had any problems.

Go see your regular doctor and he may do a blood test and then refer you to specialists.

If it blood pressure related, it’s definitely worth buying a blood pressure monitor that straps on your wrist when you want to take a reading. Keep a log and show your treatment team.

Also, like I said...I take it regularly but just because something legal or “natural” can be disastrous. Don’t live in fear, of course! But get a doctor to LISTEN to you. Tell the entire story like if you were drinking, too, for example.
