A thread recently caught my attention regarding the sexual differences between racemic and pharmaceutical d-Amphetamine. The consensus seemed to be it was down to the L-isomer. While this may be partially true I wasn’t really buying it.
Racemic Amphetamine has nearly always been produced from P2P via the Leuckart. Once in a great while over the years there’d be Amp from PPA+HI but that’s probably less than 1% total.
Leuckart Amphetamine often contains the impurity DPIA (di-b-phenylisopropylamine). An interesting research article of the pharmacology of this impurity is linked below.

They found some interesting data, including the fact it itself is psychoactive and also has effects on the overall Amphetamine experience. But also this...
“Effects of DPIA on the cardiovascular system, both i.v. in anesthetized rats and in isolated atrial preparations, were mainly opposite to those of (+)-amphetamine, namely decreases in blood pressure, force of contraction and heart rate.”
Ok... How does this effect my dick? Simple.. Decreased blood pressure and heart rate are important to eliminate erectile dysfunction, even if drug induced.
Drugs such as Viagra and Cialis are known to lower blood pressure, through vasodilation.
