Opioids Plugging Tussionex?

My friend is looking to increase the bio avalability of some Tussionex he has.

Would he be able to plug (rectaly administer) the tussionex cough syrup?

Would this work/be worth it?

I would just take it orally.

Certain things weren't meant to be plugged. Besides, the oral absorption rate of hydrocodone is pretty decent anyway.

Just echoing the above, but plugging Tussionex is a bad idea because it's in a Polistirex extended release formulation. This needs gastric interaction to be broken down so plugging it would lead to a major loss of absorption.

Tussionex = hydrocodone polistirex/chlorpheniramine polistirex= little plastic beads of meds that need a gastric environment for bead dissolution , not a bum.
